How to create the Doll Face Technique using the Gimp. This is a screenshot collage from my original tutorial found here: [link]

You can also find a gallery of the images I have created using this technique, it can be addictive and loads of fun. [link]

Please ask before posting this tutorial on another site.

Did you repost the tutorial somewhere else (as you left Flickr)? Can't seem to find the texture you mentioned in the text, and I would like my picture background to look similar to yours.

And if I might ask, what were your reasons for leaving Flickr?

Hi, sorry for the delay in reply - I've not been on DA for quite a while. I still have a screenshot-collage of the tutorial but I'll have to have a look for it and I'll put it up on my Facebook Artist Page which you can find at www.tinyurl.com/Sandy-Edgar-Facebook. Should be there this week.

To answer your question I left Flickr for a couple of reasons. Mainly because my images kept being stolen and posted on questionable websites. And also I didn't post images daily so I was never really that popular on Flickr (people really are that fickle on that website only the prolific get anywhere). In the end more effort than I was willing to expend, especially now that I am a full time art student and need to focus on that. You can only bead a dead horse for so long.
Hope that answers your questions.
Cheers
Sandy

Thanks, that answers my question. But stealing pictures is quite common on the web, I know DA adds a watermark for at least some protection but posting anywhere else imposes at least some kind of risk.

But I wish you the best of luck with your pictures.
Cheers,
Sky

Hi Sky,
So true. It's a sign of the times I guess. I could add my own watermarks I guess but I've never liked the look of them. I'll just upload low res for now.

Good news, I have reposted the tutorial that you originally enquired about. You can find it at: www.sandystutorials.blogspot.com
along with a couple of others. I'll write more as I can. Let me know if I've missed a link or have a typo.
Cheers
Sandy

I dunno. I tried doing this, but it doesn't work. I used the perspective tool, but it doesn't change anything at all.

I'm not sure how you're using the perspective tool, it should work for you like above.
