Did you repost the tutorial somewhere else (as you left Flickr)? Can't seem to find the texture you mentioned in the text, and I would like my picture background to look similar to yours.
And if I might ask, what were your reasons for leaving Flickr?
Hi, sorry for the delay in reply - I've not been on DA for quite a while. I still have a screenshot-collage of the tutorial but I'll have to have a look for it and I'll put it up on my Facebook Artist Page which you can find at www.tinyurl.com/Sandy-Edgar-Facebook. Should be there this week.
To answer your question I left Flickr for a couple of reasons. Mainly because my images kept being stolen and posted on questionable websites. And also I didn't post images daily so I was never really that popular on Flickr (people really are that fickle on that website only the prolific get anywhere). In the end more effort than I was willing to expend, especially now that I am a full time art student and need to focus on that. You can only bead a dead horse for so long. Hope that answers your questions. Cheers Sandy
Thanks, that answers my question. But stealing pictures is quite common on the web, I know DA adds a watermark for at least some protection but posting anywhere else imposes at least some kind of risk.
But I wish you the best of luck with your pictures. Cheers, Sky
Hi Sky, So true. It's a sign of the times I guess. I could add my own watermarks I guess but I've never liked the look of them. I'll just upload low res for now.
Good news, I have reposted the tutorial that you originally enquired about. You can find it at: www.sandystutorials.blogspot.com along with a couple of others. I'll write more as I can. Let me know if I've missed a link or have a typo. Cheers Sandy
do you think I can do this in photoshop? I don't have gimp.
